In the mood to hear some good ol’ American music that’s soaked in twang? If the sound of that tickles your fancy, then you are in luck! Chicago based trio, Glyders, who hit Poland, Switzerland, and Germany while on tour in Europe, will be stopping in Berlin for a total of two shows.
It’s the bands first time here in the city, so don’t miss this special chance to hear what’s been brewing lately in the Windy City.
BLY spoke with Glyders:
Can you give us a brief history of Glyders?
Glyders started a few years ago when I (Josh) met Eliza and talked her into jamming one day. I had some old songs lying around, played them for her and she picked them up within minutes. None of that “play this” kinda thing, I’m talking original smooth-as-silk lines she had the whole time. Felt like we had written the songs together ages ago. Ryan, who had just moved to Chicago at the time, mentioned to me one night over a beer that he played around on the drums in his old band, so I invited him to our swampy practice space to jam around. The rest is history. Same line up, same good vibes.
How would you describe your music for those who have yet to hear it?
Spaced out choogle, heavy on the twang!

Is this the group’s first tour in Europe?
Yes! Kinda crazy how the whole thing came together really – total magic.
You’re playing not one, but two shows in Berlin. Has anyone in the group been here before? Anything you really want experience in the city?
None of us have been here before. Our pal Dan who helped us put the tour together lives in Berlin so it’s kind of home base while we’re here. I think we’re mostly excited to experience the different culture and meet as many folks as we can! Sure the record stores won’t hurt either!
