In this sprawling city, come-rain-come-hail-come-shine, you’re lost without a bike. Depending on how hard you hit that cragged-mountain Hermannstraße on two wheels, you might find yourself sporting two toned-and-jean-bursting thighs—whizzing past a whole host of reckless-and-crazed-Berlin-cyclists, and finally blasting over the gleaming Spree, soaking up every ounce of Berlin-sights on your commute to wherever: be-it that Bite Club or that 9-5 or that whisky bar. Just you and your bicycle and the city.

This romance is why Berlin celebrates bicycle culture for a full week, from March 14 to March 20—ultimately establishing itself as one of the great international bicycle metropolises of Europe and the rest of the world. With more than 60 events, enthused (or bi-curious) cyclists can indulge in all levels of two-wheeled goodness, whilst embarking on new cycle-strategies, like holistic cycling, singlespeed cyclocross, or something called a Pedal Battle. However you stretch out your week, the central focus is the social and health benefits of taking mad pedals to the streets and building a greater bicycle community.

March 18-20 suits up for BERLINER FAHRRADSCHAU at Station Berlin, which is the leading bicycle lifestyle show for the public in the world. Packed into three days, over 300 exhibitors, with incredible brands like Trek, Rapha, Specialized, and Cannondale, countless accessories, over 30 handmade bicycle builders, countless other innovative cycling products, and, because it’s Berlin-and-come-on, there’ll be some good eats (probably in hipster-cyclist-friendly food truck formation).
Other events include the TEMPELHOF TESTIVAL, during which visitors can test out bikes and e-bikes, multiple races and rides, and even a series of art galleries and flea markets and cooking classes. Seriously: there’s something for everyone. Just peruse the massive calendar.

The Berlin Bicycle Week kick-starts on March 14 at 19:00 with the official release party for Velo 3rd Gear at Gestalten Space in Sophienstr. There, you rub bruised knees and big thighs with the big-wigs of biking and city cycling enthusiasts, slurp back free booze, and yeah sure listen to a DJ, what else.

Oh—but wait. We’re also giving away 2×2 tickets. Email win@staging-berlinlovesyou.kinsta.cloud for a chance to max out your Berlin Bicycle Week experience.
