The Berlin Festival is back this year to present another awesome event filled with a long and diverse line-up of musicians, artists, and parties at Flughafen Tempelhof.

The musicians performing include Björk, Blur, Pet Shop Boys, Casper, Mia, My Bloody Valentine, Fritz Kalkbrenner, and much, much more.

On top of the concerts, the Festival will have the most colorful Art Village yet, with a variety of artists’ installations. The Art Village includes a church in between the hangars, a pub, a circus tent for poets, a market square, a dance arena, and a swimming pool with a sauna.

After the concerts, there will be Club Xberg parties at Arena Berlin with a plethora of DJs who will play well into the morning. Plus, people with all-inclusive tickets can take a shuttle bus there from Flughafen Tempelhof.

When was the Berlin Festival established?
The first Berlin Festival took place in Paaren im Glien 30 km away from Berlin in the year of 2005.

How many artists in total have played there over the years?
Puh, thats a bit complicated. I would say roundabout 400-500 acts till 2012. You can have a look right here: http://www.berlinfestival.de/history/photo.html

How long does it take to built everything up so the festival is ready to go?
If you mean how long it takes to built up on the ground, then we need 4-5 days.
If you mean to built up in the sense of the whole preparation we start directly when the Berlin Festival is over, so it needs a whole year.

When will the festival be next year?
There is no date fixed at the moment as there are some thoughts in different directions.
