Brandt Brauer Frick feat. Beaver Sheppard and The Free Electric Singers @ Silent Green
By John Perye . September 8, 2015
Brandt Brauer Frick makes club music in a very unique and original way. They do not use computers and synthesizers to get their sound, opting instead to use classical instruments. Over the past few years, Brandt Brauer Frick, or BBF for short, have made their mark worldwide with their border-crossing music.
Founded in 2010, the Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble, or BBFE for short, is a 10-person instrumental group which has performed at
Montreux Jazz Festival, Lincoln Center New York and Centre Pompidou in Paris.
On September 9th and 10th the BBFE will be joined by Canadian singer and self-proclaimed “Renaissance Man” Beaver Sheppard, as well as The Free Electric Singers, a mixed vocal quartet, to perform in the recently restored Kuppelhalle on the premises of the new Silent Green Kulturquartier. These concerts will be the first ever to take place in the former crematory in Berlin-Wedding.
BBF is going all out to make these shows special, stating, “The two shows will be recording sessions for the coming live album that will capture the sound and atmosphere of this history-charged place. The BBFE will not only perform known songs in new arrangements, but will also present lots of unheard and unreleased material. The performance will also be filmed as a collaborative effort from BBF, Silent Green and !K7 Records.”
