Escape the summer heat with a week of Berlin’s best ice cream and one hell of a brain-freeze.

Between July 23rd-29th, True Italian will launch the first Berlin Ice Cream Week. 23 of the city’s best artisanal ice cream parlours will be coming together to offer up special-edition flavours priced at a very, very affordable 1€ a scoop.

White Chocolate-Parmesan, Golden Milk, Honey and Lavender, Spekulatius and Peanut and Madras curry (??) are just some of the wild, wacky, but always tempting 23 different flavours that will be on offer. We got the chance to sample many of these flavours during the preview event and they were each superb and sublime, right up to that big sugar crash and the ice cream-laden stagger home.

An ice cream tour of Berlin

Make it a sticky-handed day out. Collect stickers from each place you visit and once you make it past the five scoop mark, each from a different parlour, you have the chance to win a 50EUR ice cream gift card.

Scoop yourself a holiday to Cefalù

There’s also a chance for one ice cream-loving couple to win a break in Cefalù, Sicily. To be entered into the competition, post a photo of the Berlin Ice Cream Week ice cream you’re enjoying, tag in the location of the ice cream parlour and add the tags #berlinicecreamweek and @trueitalianfood. A winner will be chosen at the end of the week.
