For our readers from NYC Thursday, NYC: SLIDELUCK POTSHOW XIII
By BERLIN LOVES YOU . August 3, 2009
For all of you that are in NYC at the moment or the ones that are going there we can highly recommend this event! Cheers from Berlin.
First, some good news: a few short weeks ago, Slideluck Potshow received full (501c3) non-profit status. As well, the SLPS Network was just featured on Mashable in a piece about how arts organizations are effectively using social media. Slideluck was also just named as one of theNewYork100 most rule-breaking, model-changing ideas to come out of the Big Apple by All Day Buffet, which was then highlighted on numerous other blogs.
And now for the celebration: Please join us this Thursday, beginning at 6:30pm, for the thirteenth edition of Slideluck Potshow in New York. This will be a very special multimedia slideshow and potluck dinner — we hope you are able to be a part of it!
Please bear in mind that this is a potluck dinner! Rather than asking what this event will do for you, try to think about what you can bring to the table. We know that a Thursday potluck poses some challenges, so kindly plan ahead. Make something the night before, pick something tasty up after work, and please bring the booze of your choice.
We will be gathering at Canoe Studios, a gorgeous new 24,000 sq ft space with a large balcony on the 14th floor of the Starret-Lehigh building — just a stone’s throw from the Hudson River. The MAC Groupis creating a Hollywood Golden Age-style portrait studio to add a little timelessness to your evening. We encourage you to dress the part!
Again, becoming a Member of Slideluck Potshow is highly-recommended, especially for those who want to avoid long lines. Year-long memberships begin at $20 and all members will receive priority access as well as some great merchandise at the event. Members will also be able to purchase men’s Slideluck t-shirts and women’s camisoles and boy shorts for half-price. Save yourself some time bybecoming a member now.
It’s been exactly a year since the last Slideluck in New York and there’s a lot of anticipation surrounding this one. Let’s make it the best ever.
Warm Regards,
Casey
