Berlin’s most colorful, blooming destination for the whole family
By Clio Saal . May 3, 2014
Berlin ’s oldest tree nursery is about 300 years old! This smart-ass fact could come in handy when you’re taking the kids and parents-in-law on a trip to Späth’s tree nursery! And for these kind of trips it is the perfect location, especially now when their big spring spectacle is going on! The whole nursery is in bloom, 250 different kinds of tulips (uh, another interesting detail!) convert the nursery in a colorful sea of blossoms.
On 3rd and 4th of May the big opening festival is taking place. There’s gardening workshops and exhibitions, there’s a little café with freshly baked goods AND (most importantly) there is much to do for the kids! Brother Grimm’s fairytales are being performed in plays and readings, and if that isn’t enough arts and crafts workshops and donkey-rides will grant you a satisfied, tired and happy kid!
