This reference might fly over the head of some of you younger readers, but finally we Kreuzberg dwellers have an answer to one of life’s eternally challenging questions… “Where’s the beef?”
From August 6-7th this week, meat-lovers are in for a treat as the folks from Carnal set up shop with streetfood specialists MiAM on the at the BRLO venue at Gleisdreieck.
For those who have yet to dine with them, MiAM is a new enterprise which started a couple of months ago, aiming to be a pop-up hub for Berlin’s many streetfood and assorted culinary offerings.
While currently seeking a new home base after beginning life on the corner of Spreewaldplatz, they are continuing with a series of pop-up events, the first of which takes place at the awesome BRLO Brwhouse in western Kreuzberg. Their joint venture this weekend with New York’s Carnal, experts in New American cuisine with a focus on slow cooking and fire, represents MiAM’s first international collaboration.
Chefs Aaron Saurer and James Zamory, who cut their teeth at NYC’s three-starred NoMad restaurant before going on to work in venues such as Roberta and Smorgasbord, have designed a ‘smoke and fire’ dinner and brunch menu specifically for this special event in Berlin. A true treat for the tastebuds lies in store so grab your meat eating friends by the hand, and maybe also bring a bib to counteract all the drooling you are sure to be doing when your food comes out.
