Ron Trent: All Night Long at Prince Charles
By Brendan Power . February 10, 2015
When was the last time a DJ saved your life from a broken heart, when was the last time a DJ saved your life with a song? This Friday 13th of February at Kreuzberg’s Prince Charles comes a very special one-of-a-kind event featuring bonafide Chicago house music legend Ron Trent, a man who has seen and heard it all when it comes to music made to move your feet. You may have had the very rare privilege of catching one of Ron’s amazing sets in the past, but this won’t be just any ordinary mix from Mr. Trent, as he is set to take control of the decks and your ears for the entire night from roughly 11pm until 6 in the morning.
The music played at this party known as YOUNG SOUL, which is brought to you by the good people at JAW and Bass Cadet Records, and conceived by Ron himself, will be of a different nature also. The idea is that you will be taken on a journey through the full spectrum of rhythms and sounds which have shaped his musical influences over the years, and in doing so you will be treated to obscure edits and disco rarities which are seldom heard on the soundsystems and dancefloors of today’s modern clubs. According to the man himself, anyone who attends well be treated to “A Soulful Story of Music. Narratives, Philosophy, and Rhythm formulated by the underground sound. A meeting of open minds and souls ready to express themselves through dance.”
This will be the first of many YOUNG SOUL parties, with ones in the future set to feature very special guests & close friends alongside Ron, DJs or live musicians, all to bring the vibe to another step. There will also be a Record sale & Soulfood will be provided on the night.
