Don’t miss this year’s Berlin Art Week, starting today!

Starting today, September 17, Berlin Art Week kicks off a week of interesting exhibitions that you definitely want to get a look at. Tonight at 7pm at Auguststrasse, is the opening event, starting off with the contemporary exhibition Painting Forever! (a collaboration between Berlinische Galerie, Deutsche Bank KunstHalle, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, and Nationalgalerie), followed by a variety of music performances.

Until the 22nd of September, Berlin Art Week will host a plethora of art exhibitions, openings, and events at several venues, as well as special projects collaborating with ten different institutions and the art fairs, abc – art berlin contemporary and PREVIEW Berlin Art Fair.

abc art berlin contemporary will have an opening on the 19th with a solo presentation by Andrew Kerr with The Modern Institute, Glasgow.

One of the highlights, The Glasgow Weekend taking place from the 20th to 22nd, is a festival organized by BQ, Glaswegian curator Sarah Lowndes, and the Volksbühne theater. Twenty-two artists, musicians, and dancers from Glasgow will be apart of the festival, including Franz Ferdinand, Optimo, Richard Wright, Douglas Gordon, David Shrigley, Torsten Lauschmann, Raydale Dower, Ashanti Harris, and Romany Dear.
