Extra extra, clear your culinary calendar for this Saturday July 4th, pack your picnic blankets, tell your friends (especially those of an American persuasion) and join the Bite Club crew for a very special barbecue & grillfest. The streetfood specialists want to take your taste-buds on a little trip around the world of American BBQ classics and other global grill traditions, all against the backdrop of the breathtaking former GDR radio HQ, Funkhaus Berlin in leafy Rummelsburg. They’ve even hired a free boat to get you there, and arranged guided tours of the wood-paneled concert halls, concrete acoustic playgrounds, and backstage offices of this majestic old building.

If you’ve been to their regular Spreeside Friday evening events, then you already know what Bite Club is all about – great tasting streetfood, a wide variety of cooking styles, carefully crafted cocktails, laidback beats and a top notch relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy them all. If this sounds like your kind of thing (and let’s be honest here, what’s not to like?) then you will definitely want to check out their big plans for the 4th of July at the amazing Funkhaus location which is not normally accessible to the public.

In addition to all the food stalls listed below, this delicious day out is complemented by Singleton Whisky and Bullet Bourbon cocktails, and will be sound-tracked by the talented DJs from local Berlin record label Kleine Reise. These guys know a thing or two about getting down and funky in the open air so pack some dancing shoes in your picnic bag!

★ BBQ Shack: Back in berlin, all the way from Brighton, this pitmaster champion will be exclusively at Bite Club with his mouth-wateringly tender, game-changing brisket. I know you have all been waiting for this!!

★ Spice Spice Baby: A taste of the tropics, this sweet and spicy Jamaican Jerk chicken is marinated and slow smoked over thyme strewn coals. Think citrus, rum, cinammon & chilli and you’re almost there on the beach! Served with coconut rice & beans, fried plantain and a Jamaican rum infused gravy.

★ Pignut BBQ: One of the best reasons to visit Moabit, this acclaimed southern style BBQ are gonna be all about the ribs topped with a bevvy of sticky sauces made using grandma in Alabama’s recipes.

★ Bunsmobile: The big yellow truck (plus Victor the Jack Russell) will be serving up a special BBQ burger and corn on the cob alongside their classic cheeseburger – freshly ground chuck, their custom buns and molten cheddar

★ Pic Nic 34: Gianni will be grilling Arrosticini – a classic Abruzzo streetfood of mutton skewers and fresh-grilled piadinas filled with Sicilian cream cheese, pesto and Italian sausage.

★ Zwei Dicke Bäre: Two inspired bakers making the softest, crumbliest cookies teamed up with Mos Eisley to produce the wonder that is an ice cream sandwich

★Garcon de Café: From his Citroen 2CV Transporter, which comes fully loaded with a beautiful Vibiemme espresso machine, Henri makes a perfect noisette (that’s an espresso with a little foam) in immaculate French style. Props for the bow tie and apron!

★ Jones Ice Cream: The little mint green Citroen truck is back, serving buttery cookies and ice creams like mojito, raspberry yoghurt & meringue puffs, chai latte and dark chocolate
