tokyo meets berliners

Well, I know on this one I am a bit late with the “news”, but better late than never right?

Tip for the weekend (or end of this week), the Tokyo Meets Berliners Pop Up Shop.

The project was made by multi-brand Japanese shop Connecter Tokyo, which gathers some of the coolest new Japanese designers from the Harajuku district – kind of like Japan’s Mecca for fashion.

In Berlin they opened a pop up store in January (ooops, my bad for the late update!), showcasing some of their top brands to both interested industry buyers and simple, everyday humans like us.

Some interesting highlights from a few of the brands:

yokosakamoto

bän,bän, by yoko sakamoto – perfect for those, like me, who always have to be walking around with their lives in their bags. Here, the brand has two bags in different sizes, that promise to protect your beloved Mac from everything the big, bad world can fling at you.

But, if you take a look at their website, you can find much more cool stuff too, like their clothing line.

cilandsia

CILANDCIA, from designer Takashi Kondo. Mixed print techniques, from collages to silkscreens. You can see his creations all over bags and dresses. The Japanese artist definitely has a Pollock thing going on. For those who are crazy about prints and colors, this is perfect for you.

re designfactory

RDF standing for Re-Design Factory. Simple, clean and sustainable home wear at affordable prices. They optimized the distribution process so you get to have sustainable sheets at home without breaking the bank – it doesn’t get better than that!

Tokyo Meets Berliners Pop Up stays open until the 14th of February.

Address:
Torstraße 161. 10115 Berlin
