Somewhere in the Distance – Berlin’s Best Little Festival

By Brendan Power . June 21, 2018

With live music, over 20 DJs, great food and a magical location, find out why Somewhere in the Distance is one of the best raves of the summer.

Last year we brought you word of Berlin’s best compact music festival, situated a little more than one hour by train outside the city. It truly was an unforgettable first edition of Somewhere in the Distance and, praise be to the festival gods, it returns again to the same memorable location, on Saturday and Sunday, July 14th-15th.

Nestled in the grounds of a moated fort, with ample space to camp and get lost in the woods, last year’s event attracted hundreds of revellers of all kinds to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere around the festival grounds, while the vibes in the three different dance-floors kept the dancers going all through the night and into the next day. This year there will even be an outdoor stage for that fresh, open air feel.

Musical highlights this year, in addition to the all the great acts returning from last year’s edition, include Canada’s finest Eddie C, live cinema/synth/band combo The Quest for a Real Hard Hob, Mathias Schober of Lossless, and a slew of uber-talented upcoming local and international acts.

Check the Somewhere In The Distance Facebook event page, where all the finer details can be found. Like last year, the exact location remains something of a mystery (unless you use your detective skills on the event page), but more details are revealed closer to the event.
